Major 2022 astrology predictions for the US and the world

The year 2022 will bring major growth in business, entrepreneurship, pop culture, entertainment, art and politics — but we will face some significant challenges, too. Find out about the general mood for the year and the trends that’ll affect you, as well as the United States and the world at large!

First and foremost, 2022 will be a better year than recent ones. While we are still emerging from the rubble of recent hardships we’ve faced, we’ll find that a resurgence of hope begins to return to us.

For thousands of years, people have looked to the stars for answers — and we do yet again. As a basic definition: astrology is an art form that uses the placement of the planets and luminaries to give insight into aspects of global affairs and life.

2022 will be great for art, spiritually and Hollywood

When it comes to key themes and overall mood in 2022, we’ll be feeling more connected to ourselves — and each other.

Jupiter, the planet of miracles, blessings and expansion will be visiting Pisces from Dec. 28, 2021, until May 10, 2022. He will return one final time from Oct. 28, 2022, until Dec. 20, 2022. He briefly visited Pisces from May 13, 2021, until July 28, 2021 — so reflect back on how your life felt during that time and what was happening because you’re going to experience similar themes in 2022!

When Jupiter is in Pisces, we’ll feel that life is more harmonious, creative, spiritual and romantic. When it comes to entertainment, pop culture and Hollywood, expect a renaissance of art to boom — especially in the first half of the year. People will feel inspired and television, visual art and music will reflect the visionary, spiritual and romantic vibe that people are feeling worldwide. New entertainment formats, shows, artists and methods will be birthed that grow over the coming decade.

2022 will bring you a surge of entrepreneurship and a greater focus on leadership

Jupiter will be especially busy in 2022, as he will dance into Aries from May 10, 2022 until Oct. 28, 2022. In Aries, Jupiter will bring us more passion, confidence and courage to create the life we desire most. Whatever it is that you wish for — whether it’s personal or professional or a dearly held dream — you can more easily see it manifest when you step into your power, take the lead and initiate action.

While it may not appear overnight, you’ll quickly see the universe rewarding you for your perseverance! The key to maximizing this energy is to make a vision board and then create a long-term strategy to strike out and make it all happen! Sports, entrepreneurship and businesses that focus on being “first to market” will thrive. Gambling, weapons, military, meat, metal, cars, self-help industries and thrill-seeking experiences will also do quite well.

2022 will bring a slower pace

Most years we have an average number of retrogrades with just a few periods that cause us to slow down and reflect. However, 2022 will not only start with a Venus retrograde that will affect everyone’s goals, careers, governments and finances, but we’ll end the year with a Mars retrograde that will cause us to reflect on how we fight for our ideas and communicate with others on a grand sense. This could not only be person to person but nation to nation, as well. Social media will be a hot point of contention at the end of the year.

Last to mention is the most famous: Mercury retrograde. We usually have three a year, but 2022 has four! Most of the Mercury retrogrades will start in air signs — confusing our minds and communication — but end in earth signs — meaning that our plans aren’t creating the results we’d been after. Don’t sign contracts, launch plans or agree to anything that you want to last during these periods!

When are the dates of 2022’s important planetary retrogrades?

  • Venus retrograde: December 19, 2021 until January 29, 2022
  • Mercury retrograde: January 14, 2022 – February 3, 2022
  • Mercury retrograde: May 10, 2022 – June 2, 2022
  • Mercury retrograde: September 9, 2022 – October 2, 2022
  • Mars retrograde: October 30, 2022 – January 12, 2023
  • Mercury retrograde: December 29, 2022 – January 18, 2023

Prepare for great changes and scandals around sex and money

Next up: we have eclipses! Eclipses tie to our destiny and fated events. They bring major turning points, beginnings, endings and transformations. They trigger breakdowns, breakthroughs and culminations. These are wild cards that often change our lives forever. The eclipses we’ll be experiencing in 2022 fall on the Taurus-Scorpio axis. This means that globally, we’ll be seeing major shifts around the themes of wealth, economics, banks, stock markets and real estate.

A secondary theme will be around karmic situations involving sex, power and scandals. The eclipses in the first half of the year are better — but the ones in the second half of the year are pretty challenging, so lie low when they appear. Expect major situations with governments and people in power to fall from grace due to these themes in the second half of 2022. Financially and economically, the first half of the year is much better than the second half.

Global civilization is being restructured

Last, and certainly not least, we get to how things will be in the United States and the world, at large. Saturn, the planet of life lessons, will continue its trek through Aquarius in 2022. That means there will be more important debates around a government’s power to impose restrictions upon its people, as well as where freedom and liberty lie. Civil rights and divisions around political power will continue, as more extremist views arise. The key will be to find a middle ground. International borders, travel and restrictions will be major points of contention, as we will seek to be more united, but are in essence more focused domestically.

Also, Pluto, the planet of rebirth, will undergo a return to the exact same position it was in when the United States was born. This is called a Pluto return and takes place once every 248 years — so we have never experienced it before. While there could be further civil unrest, international friction and uncertainty about the path forward for the United States, this has been felt for years building already.

Pluto will make an exact return on Feb. 20, July 11 and Dec. 28, 2022. On one hand, there could be some troubling news, scandals or fear that is caused near those times. However, anything that rises up is to draw attention to what needs to be released and transformed within the United States and the world — as if the USA has an opportunity to reflect on its core purpose, go through a phoenix moment and rise again brighter than ever before. Many empires go through a major period of prosperity and fortune after they pass through a Pluto return — so as long as the USA is focused on truly building a better future for everyone, the decades ahead will be exceptionally bright. If not, further enemies will emerge internally, as well as on a world stage.
